Unfortunately, garlic is one of the items expressly forbidden to bring into the U.S. I don't think it would take those luggage sniffing beagles long to discover a suitcase full of garlic.
How many pounds can you get into a donkey cart? 200? That would give you $20 - not a bad day's income if you can sell it all.
