When we're waiting for a taxi in front of our building we often see this boy walking the streets selling cotton candy. He blows a horn called a mizmar to announce to all the children in the neighborhood that he is there. He's a colorful addition to the neighborhood, both in sight and sound.
In Egypt this confection is not called cotton candy. It's ghazal al banat
which translates to girl's hair or spinning girl.
