Calvert, Texas

If we hadn't had the big Texas Visitor's Guide, we could have missed Calvert. We had to go a couple of miles beyond the junction of Texas 6 and 485 to get here. Calvert has a population of only 1426 but boasts of 37 full blocks in its historic district.

The main street through town is well preserved.

A drive through many of the streets in the historic destrict on the East side of the city provides a view of numerous massive Victorian homes.
