We were headed next to Lima, Ohio, and the Allen County Museum. Tom's interest in Lima is because this city was once home to Lima Locomotive Works, the third-largest builder of steam locomotives in the U.S.
Lima locomotive's main product was the narrow-gauge Shay logging locomotive, once a mainstay of lumbering in the Pacific Northwest. (See Portland's Peggy, here.) There remains a Shay locomotive in the Allen County Museum in Lima. Unfortunately, we arrived too late on Friday evening for the museum and Covid limited Saturday hours to a noon opening. We skipped the Shay.
But, we discovered a delightful Kewpee hamburger outlet downtown near the museum. It turns out that Kewpee burgers are the original American hamburger chain - not White Castle, as you may have thought. Kewpee burger has been with us since 1928 and the only remaining outlets are located in Lima.

This street corner also offers a nearby mural, presumably depicting satisfied customers of Don Jenkins' Jewelry store.
