From Pennsylvania, we headed north on the twelve-lane Jersey Turnpike - (three truck lanes and three general lanes in each direction.) skirting Manhattan and heading into Connecticut.

We stopped to visit our dear friend, Sister Josephine, at the convent in Baltic, CT. Sister Josephine arranged a tour of St Patrick's church hosted by the affable resident monsignor.

An outing to the beach was enjoyable only for the great food at Skippers in Niantic, where we sought shelter from a nasty nor'easter that was pummeling the coast.
